Yaşasın frottage, fro-tattoo, fru-fru... Yıldızların ne dediğini biz ne zaman duyabileceğiz?

Gerçeküstücülerin otomatizm merakından doğan ‘frottage’, Argun Okumuşoğlu’nun işlerinde ara ara kendini gösteren bir teknik. Sanatçının seçtiği nesne sürtme yoluyla iki boyutlu bir imge olarak yüzeye geçiveriyor, bir anlamda negatif olarak tab oluyor. Sıçramalı bir bakışla ‘ready-made’in gölgesi denebilir bu yönteme.

Silahlarla sırt sırta yükselen kutsallığın eleştirisi hakim bu seferki sürtmelerinde Okumuşoğlu’nun. Belli ki sürterek, bıkmadan defalarca sürterek, o çok eski maskenin (makinenin) ters ‘chiaroscuro’sunu (iç yüzünü) yüzeye, gözlerimizin önüne sermek istemiş. Militarizmin nesneleri azizlerin ayrıcalıklı aksesuarı altın varak halelerle iç içe geçiyor, ele ele koşuyor, birlikte eyliyorlar. Sert kontrastlarla kurulmuş bu sergiyi 6 Mayıs – 19 Haziran 2010 tarihleri arasında Hayaka Artı’da bakışlarınızı sürte sürte izleyebilirsiniz.

Vive le frottage, fra-tattoo, fru-fru… When shall we ever be able to hear what the stars are saying?

‘Frottage’, which roots from the automatism affiliation of surrealists, is a technique occasionally found in Argun Okumuşoğlu’s works. Through rubbing, the object picked by the artist is reflected on the service as a two dimensional image; which can be viewed as some sort of negative printing. With a leap-up standpoint we can define this method as the shadow of the ‘ready-made’.

This time Okumuşoğlu’s rubs involve the criticism of divinity rising back-to-back with weapons. Apparently, by rubbing and rubbing repeatedly and obstinately, he intends to unveil the opposite ‘chiaroscuro’ (what is behind the scenes) of that very old mask (machine). The objects of militarism are intertwined with the gold gilded halos, the privileged accessory of the saints. Hand-in-hand, they are running and managing. Rubbing your eyes on the works, you can view this exhibition, constructed with harsh contrasts at HAYAKA ARTI between 6 May – 19 June.
